Hi! I’m a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Colorado Boulder studying Journalism and Anthropology. I have reported for campus publications including the CU Independent, Radio 1190, and Mountain Time Magazine. I’m also a research mentee aiding Ph.D. student Annabelle Lewis’ cemetery archaeology research.
First and foremost, I believe that journalism is a tool for systemic advocacy. My mother is a first-generation Vietnamese immigrant who has taught me to understand my privileges and use them for good. I aspire to uplift marginalized voices and report their stories holistically.
I was born and raised in Colorado, and struggled to understand the state’s magic until I came to Boulder. Outside of being a student, I’m also a Student Ambassador for the Office of Admissions (I give campus tours, ha!), and enjoy crocheting, reading ethnographies, and spending time with family and friends.
